Travel & Homestay Website Design in India

Most travellers look you up before they message you. They want to see the real rooms and the view, what a package actually includes, and how to get there. If all they find is a Facebook page and a few blurry photos, they book somewhere that feels more certain.

We design websites for homestays, resorts, tour operators and travel agencies across India. Each site is built around what guests check before they book, photographed properly, and set up to be found on Google.

01    Guests

What guests look for on a travel website

Guests rarely read a travel website from top to bottom. They scan for a handful of things before they decide to message you, and the site should make each one easy to find.

  • The real place: rooms, views, food and common areas, in honest photographs.
  • Clear prices: room rates or package costs, and what they include, such as meals, transfers and permits.
  • How to get there: the nearest railway station or airport, road conditions and pickup options.
  • The plan: a day-wise itinerary for every tour, so guests know what each day holds.
  • Proof that you are genuine: reviews from real guests, and a quick way to reach a real person.
02    What’s included

What we build for your travel business

  • Room and package pages, one for each stay or tour, with photographs, rates and inclusions. These are also how new guests find you on Google.
  • Day-wise itineraries, laid out so they are easy to follow on a phone.
  • Enquiries on WhatsApp or through a short form, with the room or tour name already in the message.
  • A photo gallery that does justice to the place.
  • Location and directions, with Google Maps and the nearest station and airport.
  • A fast, mobile-first design, since most guests plan their trips on a phone.
  • Secure hosting and maintenance, so the site stays up to date after launch.

Optional extras include pages in Bengali or Hindi, online advance payments through Razorpay, destination guides and a travel blog.

03    Photography

Photographs that do the selling

This is where we differ from most web agencies. Ideestep is led by a documentary photographer, so photography is part of the job rather than something you have to arrange separately.

For a homestay or resort, we photograph the rooms, the food, the hosts and the view at the right time of day, so guests see exactly what they are booking. For tour operators, we sort and edit the trip photos you already have, often thousands of them, into a gallery that shows what your tours are really like.

04    Google

Built to be found on Google

Travellers search by place: a homestay near a particular village, or a tour that starts from their own city. Every travel website we build is set up for those searches from the first day.

  • Place names in your page titles, so you appear for searches such as “homestay in Lava” or “Sundarbans tour package from Kolkata”.
  • Schema markup, which helps Google understand what you offer and where you are.
  • Google Business Profile setup with Travel Starter and Travel Pro, so you show up on Google Maps when people search near your destination.
  • Pages that load quickly on mobile data, because many guests plan their trip on a phone, often on a weak signal.
05    Our work

Travel websites we have built

  • Sahachar, a homestay portal for North Bengal, the Dooars and Sikkim, listing verified stays
  • Bonochhaya Stay, a simple, focused website for a village homestay in the Sundarbans, with its stay packages

06    Process

How it works

  1. A call or a WhatsApp chat. We talk through your property or tours, your guests, and where your bookings come from today.
  2. Content and photographs. We draft the content with you, and either work with your best photographs or plan a shoot.
  3. Design and build. You review the design, ask for changes and approve each page.
  4. Launch and Google setup. We publish the site, connect Search Console and, where it is included, set up your Google Business Profile.

Most travel websites go live within three to five weeks, depending on how quickly the content and photographs are ready. A Basic Website can be ready within seven working days of receiving your content and photos.

07    Pricing

What a travel website costs

Travel Starter, from ₹25,000
For homestays, small resorts and local tour operators. Up to ten room or tour pages with day-wise itineraries, a photo gallery, WhatsApp and form enquiries, Google Maps, basic SEO and Google Business Profile setup.

Travel Pro, from ₹45,000
For travel agencies and operators with several properties. Up to thirty packages or listings, destination pages written for search, online advance payments through Razorpay and full Google setup, with the option of a professional photo shoot.

Booking portal, custom quote
For portals that list many properties, with search filters, owner listings or live availability.

On a smaller budget? Our general Basic (₹10,000) and Business (₹19,000) websites also suit a single homestay or a small tour operator, with some limits. Both have up to five pages, with your rooms or tours listed together on one page, and no day-wise itineraries or online payments. Basic is a fixed site that we update for you, while Business lets you change rates, photos and offers yourself and can grow into a full travel website later. Google Business Profile setup is a paid add-on with both. See how they compare.

Quoted separately: photography, pages in Bengali or Hindi, monthly care for rates, offers and seasonal packages (from ₹2,999 a month), ongoing SEO, and shoots outside Kolkata, where travel and stay are extra. We send a fixed quote after the first call, so there are no surprises later. Payment, revisions, renewals and handover are explained in our project terms.

08    FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How much does a travel or homestay website cost?
A Basic Website costs ₹10,000 and a Business Website ₹19,000. Travel Starter websites start from ₹25,000 and Travel Pro from ₹45,000. Photography, extra pages and regional languages are quoted separately.

I already get bookings through booking apps. Why do I need a website?
Booking apps bring guests, but they take a commission on every booking and stand between you and the guest. Your own website gives returning guests and referrals a direct way to reach you, and it is where people go to check that you are genuine after finding you on Instagram or a booking app.

Can guests book and pay on the website?
Yes. Most homestays prefer WhatsApp enquiries, so they can confirm dates before taking any money. Travel Pro includes online advance payments through Razorpay, and we can also link a booking system you already use.

Can I update rates and packages myself?
Yes, on Business, Travel Starter and Travel Pro websites. On a Basic Website, send us the changes and we make them for you at ₹500 each. If you would rather not handle updates at all, our monthly care plan covers seasonal rates and offers.

Do you work with properties outside Kolkata?
Yes, across India. Design, content and reviews happen online. For photography, we travel to your property; travel, stay and the shoot are quoted separately.

Will my website show up on Google?
Every site is set up for search, with proper page titles, schema, a sitemap and Search Console. Ranking for busy searches, such as stays in a popular hill town, takes a few months of steady work, which we can also handle for you.
