PSOGI Connect: a members-only app for an international medical society

PSOGI, the Peritoneal Surface Oncology Group International, brings together specialists who treat peritoneal cancer around the world. Ideestep designed and developed PSOGI Connect, the society’s official member app, launching soon on iOS and Android.

01    The client

Peritoneal Surface Oncology Group International

PSOGI is a collaboration of leading experts in peritoneal cancer. It trains physicians, organises scientific meetings and supports research to improve treatment and survival for patients. Its members are busy surgeons and oncologists spread across many countries.

Ideestep also designed and built the society’s website, psogi.com.

02    The challenge

Official updates were getting lost

  • Society news was scattered across WhatsApp groups and email threads.
  • There was no secure space limited to verified members.
  • Members had to search old messages to find meeting dates and documents.
03    What we built

One organised, members-only app

  • Member dashboard with the latest notices and upcoming events
  • Notice board with General, Academic, Urgent and Events categories, pinned priorities and attachments
  • Event calendar with RSVP, reminders and add-to-calendar
  • Member directory searchable by name, role or institution
  • Private one-to-one member chat
  • Priority notifications for urgent notices and event reminders
04    Design

Made for busy doctors

The app is mobile-first and opens straight to what matters. Getting started takes three steps: download the app, sign in with a PSOGI member account and turn on notifications. A guest mode lets visitors explore before signing in.

05    Roadmap

Ready to grow

The app is built to add features as members ask for them. Planned additions include a media gallery, polls and voting, an alumni network, an opportunity board and group discussions.

06    Status

Launching soon

PSOGI Connect is launching on the App Store and Google Play. See the official page at psogi.com/psogi-connect.
